There is plenty of culture on offer both for visitors and inhabitants of the town. Unique features include the spa amenities such as the spa gardens with the brine evaporation works, the brine spring bath and the banks of the River Elbe. There are also concerts by the Central German Chamber Philharmonic, the Schönebeck Operetta Summer, town festivals, art exhibitions in galleries and much more.

Every year in May/June ten different concerts take place as part of the series entitled "Klänge im Raum" (Sounds in Space). They include classical works, Dixieland and Big Band sounds, solo singers, wind instruments and choirs. This series is co-funded by the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt. Pretzien Music Summer A cultural highlight that attracts all friends of sacred and classical music near and far is the Music Summer in the former village Pretzien, now part of the town of Schönebeck (Elbe). This event has been held every year from June to September for more than 35 years. Several concerts are performed by international artists and take place in the St Thomas´s Church, which is on the "Romanesque Road", in the locality of Pretzien. In spring each year the florists of the District of Schönebeck assemble in the town, on Salzblumenplatz, and offer their flowers and garden plants for sale. The market is organised by the municipal authority in conjunction with the traders and is enlivened by a cultural programme. The exact date is to be found in the calendar of events.
Guided tours with the Night Watchman There is a night watchman in Schönebeck (Elbe); however, this is no longer his main occupation, as would once has been the case, but a sideline which he takes very seriously.
