Bierer-Berg-Fest

In the grounds of the animal park (Heimattiergarten) on the "Bierer Berg", the Bierer-Berg-Fest is celebrated every August. The festival offers fun for all the family, with the cultural programmes being tailored with precisely that in mind. There is much on offer for folk music enthusiasts as well as for fans of German ?Schlager? and classic rock; renowned artists such as Geschwister Hofmann, Margitta & ihre Töchter, Bernhard Brink, Nino De Angelo, Andy Borg, Die Ladiner, Rosanna Rocci, Mary Roos etc. have been among those performing here in recent years.

As well as cultural highlights on the main stage, there is plenty more for visitors to do, for example climbing the Bismarck Tower, looking round the animal park and riding on the children?s roundabout. The open-air stage mostly offers children?s programmes and shows for the entertainment of the youngest visitors.
Admission is free of charge. 

The 26th Bierer-Berg-Fest will be taking place from 22 to 23 August 2015.

Nikolausfest/Christmas market

Every year at Christmas time the centre of the town and the market places of Bad Salzelmen and Schönebeck (Elbe) are attractively illuminated. On the 1st Sunday in Advent a Christmas market is held in Bad Salzelmen, and on the 2nd Sunday in Advent the traditional Nikolausfest begins in the centre of Schönebeck (Elbe). A large number of seasonal stalls, showmen and town-centre shops contribute each year to the success of these events. A visit to the two Christmas festivals in Bad Salzelmen and Schönebeck (Elbe) is worthwhile not only for families with children, but also for people who like to chat with friends while enjoying a hot drink and a Christmassy atmosphere.

The Christmas market in Bad Salzelmen will be held on 28-29 November 2015.
The Nikolausfest will be taking place in the Schönebeck street Salztor in the beginning of December 2015.

Christmas on the Bierer Berg

Since 2006, the event ?Christmas on the Bierer Berg? ("Weihnachtlicher Bierer Berg") has taken place each year on the 3rd Sunday in Advent in the delightful atmosphere of the "Bierer Berg" animal park (Heimattiergarten). As well as the animal park being adorned with Christmas decorations, there are small-scale cultural programmes for all ages, such as a nativity play, a puppet theatre, Christmas ?Turmblasen? (brass instruments playing chorale music from the city tower or church steeple), a lantern parade with gifts for the animals from Father Christmas and the animal keepers, gifts for the children, snacks, hot mulled wine, bite-size doughnuts (?Schmalzkuchen?) and much, much more.
Admission is free of charge!

The event "Christmas on the Bierer Berg" (Weihnachtlicher Bierer Berg) will be held on 13 December 2015, starting at 2 p.m.
