The Lindenbad

The Lindenbad, today?s spa treatment centre, was built in classical Greek style between 1876 and 1878 to replace the bath house (Badehaus) dating from 1820, which had become too small.
A colonnaded portico extends out from the central section of the building facing west.
The life-size figures in front of the side wings of the building represent ?Health? and ?Healing?.

In 1999 the Lindenbad underwent thorough restoration.
The brine of the Erlenquelle (?alder spring?), which has a salt concentration of 8% and is a recognised medicinal substance, is used here.

The services on offer include: massages, fitness exercises, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, various courses such as aqua-fitness, water aerobics and much more.

Solequell1210The ?Solequell? health and leisure pool

There is a long history of bathing in warm brine in Bad Salzelmen.
Even the founder of the brine bath, physician to the Schönebeck salt panners? guild Dr. Johann Wilhelm Tolberg, successfully used the brine in treating his patients for skin and joint disorders.
When the first brine swimming pool, the "Erlenbad", was opened in 1841, everyone had the opportunity to seek relaxation in warm brine.

This was replaced in 1999 by the "Solequell" brine pool and recreation centre with its sauna and restaurant in Bad Salzelmen.

Modernisation and reconstruction work carried out in 2009 and 2010 have considerably increased the attractiveness of the popular "Solequell".
Especially the wide range of the newly created sauna facilities has given rise to a unique wellness complex that fascinates guests near and far.

Salzblume_sculptureThe Salzblume sculpture

The new landmark of Schönebeck (Elbe) welcomes visitors at the Elbe bridge.

Created in May 1997 by the Danish artist Anders Nyborg, the sculpture pays homage to the great history of salt production, which characterised the town from the Middle Ages onwards.
